My "CB" only goes to 28. something so I missed you!!!Sounds like you had an enjoyable afternoon though! (Actually the only radio I was around today was a Uniden 510, so I guess 27.405 was tops.)

I don't chase DX or work contests this weekend 10-11 is the 10 meter one
There shoulld be a large number of ststions on........
As for HR2510's I had a Lincoln years ago that i moded the RF stage added a channelguard filter and chipped switch it making it a very good radio on 12 meters and allowing me to make my first contacts on that band.
I hope to get a all band radio to run in the car this next year right now I just have a 2 meter one .... My DR-03 mike is bad and i'm looking for a replacement ... -

Awwww the good ol' days! -
What I use as well. Underrated radio, imo. I'll use it, or my old 148-GT. -

I may be wrong but here goes MY understanding....
It is illegal to sell non certified radios.
It is NOT illegal for anyone to posses a non certified radio.
It is illegal for a non licensed person to transmit on a no certified radio on the 10 meter band
A licensed operator may transmit on the ten meter band with a non certified radio.
A non licensed or licensed person may legally listen to a non certified radio on any band.
No one may transmit on the 11meter CB band with a non certified radio.
Non-certified refers to non type accepted.
I was TOLD this goes back to the old days when many hams built and used their own equipment. It allowed a licensed ham to build and operate their own equipment. Again this is just my own understanding based on what I have heard and read.
Here in NY we have an interest law that parallels this... Switchblades.
You cannot buy or sell switchblades.
You cannot possess on your person or use a switchblade UNLESS you are engaged in hunting or fishing and are also in possession of a valid hunting or fishing license.
I have seen this myself in a real copy of the NY state penal laws. It was pointed out to me by an NYPD officer years ago. So if I can't buy my switchblade to hunt or fish... How do I get it? Guess I have to make my own? -
