That has to be the single most childish thing I've ever read on this site.

 

So here's a suggestion. Instead of complaining here why not enter some comments on the proposed rule making on fmcsa's website and get involved write your senators,congressmen etc. That's the problem with this industry very few pay attention or get involved with helping to educate the law makers. After all if all the politicians here from are the special interest groups etc, trying to push their agenda it's all one sided. So get off your lazy backsides and raise %ell and make your voices/opinions heard. Quit wining and crying and get involved!

Sir what you will learn at light speed is that your opinion only matters if you have a hell of a lot of money! And I do mean a lot too!
Type in any trucking company's name or just an elected officials name and follow the money.
These people are lower than the value of snot in my book and in many cases lower than what comes out the back end of my cousin's dog in that they are beyond the word known as bribed.
The only way is to shut America down and not return to our duties till the uprising is over.
We should not be selfish and strike just for our own needs but the needs of America!!!
The public would back us 100%!!! THEY PUT HIM OUT OF SERVICE FOR DRIVING OVER HIS HOURS. $900.00 IN FINES PLUS POINTS ON HIS CSA ALL FOR SOMETHING NOT HIS FAULT. YEAH ALL ABOUT SAFETY!!. ALL ABOUT$$$$$$$

 

I call bs on that. All he had to do is claim safe haven and he can drive to the nearest parking place. There's more to that story. If he explained to the cop the situation and asked for the nearest place he could safely park he shouldn't of had a problem.
But a lot of that depends on the attitude of the driver. If he's being a ####### then the cop isn't gonna be inclined to be nice.

 

There is no such thing as safe haven.

My friend got kicked off the Walmart distribution lot in Olney. He circled the local fuel stop looking for parking. He decided to use safe haven to drive down the road to nearest Walmart.

Got caught by the state patrol and checked. Over hours, over 14.

Fined and put out of service.

He said I was trying to get to a place to take the break.

Poor planning.

I've never had any problem with law enforcement. But I'm also respectful and polite.

 

Respectful and polite is the only way to be with them or at least start out. Its good you have not had a problem with them and hopefully you wont for awhile. Unfortunatley sooner or later you WILL encounter one or more that will leave you walking away saying WTF? This stuff can not be made up. There are lots of downright young, arrogant, ignorant, drunk on authority a hole LEOs out here. There is a whole new breed of them. Youll find one.

 

So, can a local put you OOS? OR give you CSA points?
