I bought a Cobra dash cam from Loves back in December, the ones that are now on sale for $89.00 after rebate. I sent in for the rebate, and of course, it never came in the mail. It suddenly quit working, when I turn it on, the Cobra logo pops up, the screen showing the time, the date and camera footage appears. Then, it turns into stationary gray snow.

I ended up buying a Top Dawg dash cam and the TA, which has GPS time stamp feature as well as my speed. I go to the truck and open it up, it appears to have been opened once before, as some of the packaging was cut into. There was the letter "A" written on the screen in a Sharpie. There was also a blue piece of plastic and a clear piece of plastic on the top right corner of the screen I could not get off. I go back inside and swap for another one, this one was not opened, but it has the exact same thing on the top right corner of the screen. I tried to visit Top Dawgs website, but its been down.

My only other choice of dash cam was the Cobra that had the GPS feature built in, but after my short stint and a dead unit, I'd figure I'd try to the Top Dawg. Now, I'm not some what satisfied with the Top Dawg. Anyone else have any similar problems?

Gopro has an actual dash cam or you have one of their action cameras that you mounted on your dash?

I've been getting ready to pull the trigger on this, since my webcam isn't a practical (although it's field expedient) solution. Has anyone tried the MobileSpec dashcams? I've looked into them, but can't find anything on them online. I've also been looking at the Garmin dashcams, too. I'd get one somewhere else, but I'm wanting to use points, if I can.

Do they sale that diesel boss at any of the TA/Petros? I have $77 saved up on my points card and have been itching to spend it on a dash cam.

I have the action camera. It comes with like 5 different mounts and two for the dash. Gotta find a good suction cup for it though. I just have a 64g memory card and set it on loop.

You can only get the DieselBoss's products through his website. I've been using the Blackbox camera from BlueTiger, and it's satisfactory. You can get that one from a TA.

Don't judge the video quality from the little screen on the camera. Most of these cameras are HD-quality, and you'll see it when you view the video on a HDTV screen.

I've been using the Cobra unit and no issues so far. When playing back the recordings with MS Media Player, the video has a lot of artifacts, but with VLC Player, it looks terrific and clear. I hope it lasts at least a year, but if not, I might try something else as well. I've seen the Garmin unit for sale now, but it's twice the price. So I'll have to save a bunch of points.

I dislike Garmin. Their GPS units, not pleased with. The pricing of their new Dash Cams, a lot of money for not a lot of features. You can get the same features for less with Top Dawg. $179 VS $249.
