I just hired in with Estes. They are desperately looking for drivers. The thing that makes it hard to get in with them is they have no ONE person dedicated to bringing people on board so you get forgotten if you do not follow up after each and every step of the hiring process including calling right after you put in an application!!! Call them every two days until you are in a truck!!!

i just finished an app and interview with Estes in nj.filled out app and then went in to talk with TM.he asked a few simple questions and whatnot, then he told me the app had to be fwrd to the DM for approval......but since he was the DM he approved it as he was covering for the TM for the day.next is a background check(criminal),then drug sceen and DOT phys.this was for a linehaul run out M-F basically..4915 cpm,new daycab they give em to the p&d guys after about 350000 mi he told me) if you layover you will stay out of one of the terminal bunkhouses or at a hotel also..good benefits and pay for sure and a company i can retire with if i get on with them, beats NEMF hands down.

wondering:
do they have e-logs? I prefer e-logs after using them for 4 years
are you home every night? home more would be the main reason I'd consider leaving a great job
what do they pay? more money would be the only other reason I'd consider leaving a great job
what are the hours? I can't drive between 10pm at 6am, body clock simply doesn't work like that, current job understands that, 10 or even 12 hour days would be nice, 14 hour days are getting old
what do you do as a combo driver? whatever they want you to for the day? already used to that -
They use peoplenet
4915cpm for linehaul to start, supp going up a couple cents in Jan.
about 23.00 per hour for P&D,atleast thats what i was told, they have Hub drivers but that inclds dock work along w/ your run.
Linehauls not for you then because of your hour restrictions,I start at 1100pm and im an extra board driver, good miles too.
your right on the nose as far as a combo(utility) driver goes.
good benefits and real nice people. -
job description says they prefer 2 years, any chance of hiring on with less than a year experience in NJ?
-
prob,it says prefer.i know they r desperate for drivers.they might take you in their driver school.where r u in nj?go put an app in and bring a copy of your dmv abstract w you.be persistent too.call once a week and ask about your status.
Nick2001 Thanks this. -
