Plan conservative.
Think $100 a day net.
Anything above is a bonus.
Good for your wallet.
Try spending less than 5.

Shouldn't have any problem making a combined $60K for team you first yr. after all training is completed. After a years experience, you can change companies and go with a company such as Old Dominion and make over $100K.The key is to get all the endorsements so you can qualify for the better paying jobs. Also get TWIC & a passport.gpsman, blairandgretchen and greytdayzahead Thank this. -
I made $40k my first year of driving and that was in 1995. I don't see why you couldn't make $40-45k your first year. Learn how to live cheaply on the road. Get a cooler and one of those Burton 12volt stoves, or if your truck has a power inverter, get a little microwave. In a couple of years you can pull down $55k+ no sweat. Ignore the guys who say you will be making $5 an hour. That's pure BS.

Don't forget con-way truck load. 45 cents per mile after 7500 miles with your finishers. You will train separately but it only takes about 3 weeks.

Your first year should be in the mid $40s(even with some "starter" companies, Watkins Shepard for example, mid 40's, no problem and no sharing truck with possible stinky trainer), after 2yrs many doors open and that can go much higher.

Flatbed or tanker is the wzy to go...you can make 50 or 60k your first year
walstib and greytdayzahead Thank this. -
My first year I was in flatbedding. I ran maybe two weeks at a time, sometimes out one, but I made just over 38k. Second year was just under $55k, third I almost hit $65, but I was out A LOT and hauling oversize. I think I was home a total of about 4 or 5 weekend. 4th was cut short by deployment, but I made 30k in about 8 months due to training and all that crap.
