Another difference is LS you can find freight on any other load board and as long as the brokers credit is good you may try to obtain that load, as long as you run the load through an agent you can trust or know.
Spot market freight is something you won't get with schneider if you run choice. I don't care how much freight SNI,JB,Werner, etc. The fact is those companies COMBINED haul around ONLY %5 of the freight. I run a particular lane and I won't say locations but the broker is SNI logistics and I've ran that run for as much as $6 a mile(580 miles). Come to find out the consignee that I run the freight for SNI logistics does all of their freight. So I've done plenty of freight for SNI logistics the past year.
I took a load from knoxville to charlotte this past week. I delivered in the afternoon and said IM just gonna rest, when I received a call agent who was trying to move some loads out of charlotte to philly for 3k it was tempting but I was too tired ... -
I'm not sure I know what spot market freight is compared to other freight

Rates on one of the nations largest spot freight markets are fairly stable amid lower freight levels.
DAT reports total spot market loads available fell 4.6% April 20 through April 26 compared to the previous seven days.
Rates for both flatbeds and reefers were unchanged, coming in at an average of $2.35 and $2.28 per mile, respectively, while vans fell 1.5% to $2.03 per mile. This compares to big increases that were seen during part of the late Winter and early Spring. -
Spot market is where the money's at when capacity gets tight. Think loadboard freight, CHR, TQL, yes even LS broker and SNI logistics. Little disappointed to learn negotiating as a BCO is frowned on, did not know that one. My pick of the 2 would be LS. Guys think connecting with good agents is a game of playing favorites. Nothing of the sort. If you're business minded professional who gets things done with no fuss you'll make the right connections in time with the right people. To make the best money in the trucking business it has always been and will always be about the relationships you build with others. SNI just seems like a locked in take it or leave it sort of thing. And from what I've heard in comparison with spot rates in hot markets right now their comparable rates are really low tells me they take full advantage of the captive nature of their lease operators. At least there is some negotiating at LS.
milskired and knuckledragger Thank this. -
But what exactly is Spot Market Freight
-
Is it freight that is sitting and needs moved kinda like JIT or hotshot ?
