This driver was a new driver for CRST who had been driving for 3 weeks and said he got confused going up and down the hills. He said he thought he was going up a hill and that is why he was in 2nd gear. WOW. Training driver was asleep in the cab during the accident when should of been in the jumpseat. CRST also refused to let the police inspect the truck and get the black box. Wyoming state police impounded the vehicle until search warrant could be issued.

How did I know BEFORE turning to page 2 that CRST or England would be involved in this mess

    well being there this morning
road should have been closed head to ride the rumble strip to know I was on the road
you couldnt tell if the flashers were on the shoulder or going slow
    probably an inexperienced driver
    and no truckstops for miles

I guess learning how to know the difference in going up a hill or down is covered in the 4th week of training. Sad.

Good job by the WY authorities. If no mechanical issues are found......well,........the responsibility should fall squarely on the shoulders of that "trainer" and CRST, IMHO.

Road still closed, but now for weather instead of the accident. Forecast says 10" of snow already on Elk Mountain with another 5 on the way to go along with the usual 30-50mph winds.

    Record lows for May

10 more days. They gave me the option of taking the next available load to Fontana & turning in my truck or staying on the final 2 weeks -- 2500mile HM preplan was persuasive...
