we get the situation here. hit and run drivers on the night shift.
i see damage on trailers. if the scrape is shiny or im not sure if its new i get on the radio or phone and say."i have not moved this equipment yet and it has this damage"
they gonna ok to move it or come out and look. the time and name of the dispatcher goes on the inspection report.

Just a heads up...... Keep an eye on the possible oil boom in northeast Nevada. They are saying it can start as early as mid-June.

I'm currently working in the mining industry and even though the oil boom would be great for job creation and for the small town of Wells. I just would hate for Elko to burst at the seams and became another nasty place like Williston!!

Does anybody know how I can prank somebody who was born shifting gears????

A friend of mine (he's been driving a truck his whole life) convinced me that if my pusher axle pressure was too high, the slightest sudden movement on the steering wheel was going to flip the truck. He justified this information by telling me that the pusher axle pushes up on the cab, thus changing the center of gravity and making the truck more prone to roll-over.

The past week, I've been driving somebody else's truck, and the pusher axle pressure was adjusted incorrectly (I learned how to adjust it today). And so, needless to say, I've been driving around white-knuckled for the past week, completely convinced I was going die or be dismembered in a horrific accident!

Well, I just talked to my supervisor, and he got a good chuckle and said I was way too gullible. Increased pusher axle pressure WILL NOT roll a truck!!!

I called my friend on the misinformation he gave me. He had to pull over on the side of the highway. He was laughing to hard to drive!!! Grrr....

He will be rolling throgh Williston again in a few weeks. I want to prank him back, but have no idea how to prank somebody who has been driving a truck his whole life??? My repritor of tricks is limited to putting food coloring in the windshield washer fluid (which isn't an option because he drives a light colored truck). Any ideas???? :biggrin_25512::biggrin_255::yes2557::biggrin_25525:

You can jam a peeled banana behind the os door handle. If you really want to be nasty use axle grease.

Fresh fish under the seat or anywhere out of sight in the cab works. Heavy zip ties on a driveshaft if its close enough to touch something when it goes around. Dump a cheap gallon bottle of shampoo on the roof. You would be amazed how it suds up when you attempt to wash it off.

These are all stupid high school prank we used to do if a buddy was out on a first date with a girl.

    Hey, 58Skylane!
    This is a silly question....

Is the truck stop/diner with the stuffed polar bear still in Elko, Nevada??? I was about 5 years old, and this was the first truck stop my parents ever took me to! I remember it well because I was fascinated by the trucks and the polar bear!!! I remember my Dad holding my hand and walking me through the parking lot. I was giggling and squealing because I thought the idling truck engines were making the pavement rumble under my feet!!! :biggrin_25519:

Cute, but not harmless enough!!! I would never, ever, under any circumstances, do anything that would mess up, or even make a mess of his truck! He's a friend, and I want to keep it that way!!! Shampoo on the roof would be funny, but he always snoozes while his truck is being washed. He wouldn't even notice, while the guys at the truck wash would be irritated and wanting a bigger tip!!!

Ya it just brought back some funny memories.

Couple more. Get a bucket of water, pack snow around the wheels then pour water on the snow. Get the car in neutral and push it somewhere. And our all time greatest bury the entire car in snow.

OMG! That's great! But, I hope it doesn't snow enough in Williston for me to bury a tractor-trailer!!! LOL!!

    MJ1657!!!

You gave me a great idea!!! There may not be enough snow to bury a tractor-trailer, but that doesn't mean I can't hide it from him!!! I can take him out for dinner and drinks (which we usually do anyways, so this wouldn't be unusual), and have his truck and trailer towed around the corner!!! Expensive prank, but funny nevertheless! I just need to know this... Is there any possible way his truck could be damaged if I pulled a stunt like this??? It wouldn't be funny if the tow company damaged his truck or trailer... :biggrin_2551:

It could be damaged as the brakes will be set. When towed it will cause flat spots on the tires. Or even more damage..
    not a good idea
