good luck at Carter. just what ever you do. DO NOT buy a home in Anderson.... or in the Anderson school system area (you know in case one day you have kids) look to Hamilton,Henry,Tipton or north Hancock county or North Madison.. Living in Anderson might as well live in Detroit... and crime is a lot higher then reported...

I live in Anderson. and no I don't work at carter (hear a lot of good things about them)

Hamilton County is pretty good but also very expensive. Its pretty much our Beverly hills lol.
Alex has good schools so I hear. Pendleton is nice but its South Madison comm schools which is going down hill due to some of the Anderson trash. Frankton-Lapel is also having the Anderson trash problem so I have been told. Middletown is redneck'ish but the school system is ok. Daleville is getting trashed due to the Anderson problem.

Madison county ranks #1 in meth production, so things ain't as good as they used to be. I live in North Anderson which used to be one of the safest parts 15'ish years ago now its pretty much a slum for the most part. And Anderson really screwed the schools up beyond repair. (sure you remember Highland and Madison Heights which now no longer exist....) Not sure how much of the city you have seen but if you ain't been here in 15 or 20 years. It has changed A LOT. and for the worse. we got big city gangs like MS13 here now. (the thought of MS13 here 15 years ago was laughable.)

as someone who has lived here all 32 years of my life. I still can not believe they let it get this bad. But some nice places 20'ish miles away as long as they can keep the crud confined where it is now.

if you got a police scanner. 453.5625,453.6625,453.950,453.700 are APD frequencies... on home time you can listen to the nutters. and people who think they can get away with shoplifting.

32 years? i'm 35. we may know each other.

you know... back in the day they used to promote anderson as a place to get away from the indy crime and stuff. i forget the language they used, but it was pushed as a short drive to live in a much nicer place.

You guy's are so right, I remember when "brown county" was the main concern, now it's all over Anderson. Unless you live off Madison by the country club, or near Forest Hills which is showing signs of decline. I don't have kids, so schools aren't an issue, but that will narrow the population to single, married w/o children, and old people. So where is the perfect place to live in Indiana ??
