    Hello Guys,

Always read a lot of posts in here as I have been looking into the trucking business. I have
been told by a lot of people on what I should do, but most of what they tell me for getting my
CDL is to go through a school or sign a contract with a company like CR England, but don't like either of those options.

Just looking for some advice of the way to go if your looking to get your CDL.

    Thanks in advance :)

Start by banging your head against a wall for a week or so, if you can say it felt good and you want more, then continue ....

Sorry, having a very trying day today ...

I would highly recommend paying for a school yourself and getting it that way. I don't think I would ever sign a contract with a company that offers putting people through school because they'll own you for up to a year. Find out if you're eligible for financial assistance for the school through your state. I was and my state ( MD ) pay about 30% of the total cost of the school I went to, which was about $4k total.

Find someone that will let you train with them and take the test at the DMV. Screw them high price schools

You can just go get it on your own I and many others have done that but I would highly recommend going to some type of school as learning the ins and out by paying fines as I did is a steep learning curve and it's even worse now with the CSS points

I would say if your going to go to school just let them do the whole nine yards the only thing I know About the school is through the grapevine and with drivers you can be assured 90 percent of what your told is bs. Personally if I were to do it again I'd go through one of the company training programs yes you give them a year but it's gonna take tha long for you to get poficciant any way more than likely

It will be practically impossible to find a job getting your CDL that way. The insurance companies won't insure you and they are the ones that approve job applications, believe it or not.

Go to community college CDL school; they are cheap and excellent. While in school, get all the endorsements plus TWIC and a passport. If you don't want to go that route, then try a trucking company CDL school; some are excellent plus they hire you.

    Look at these:

Millis Transfer - Burleson, TX ($500.00 gets you started)
Southern Refrigerated Transport - Texarkana (this school furnishes a bus ticket, hotel room, 3 meals a day & no tuition if you stay a year.)
