I had a man trying to scam me once by email (one particular time of many), and when I emailed back if he would take bank checks, with my phone number, he called me within five to ten minutes. I wanted to get his phone number and as much information from him as possible to keep for information purposes.

I saved the info to post and warn others (he annoyed me in particular) and got busy with job hunting/life, here is some of his info (these are my raw notes with no explanation, but may help someone):

" MONLADE ERIYOMI GERMAIN in the Republic of Benin

    note:he called at 4:01 PM, February 18, 2014
He called me from a southern North Carolina number posing as Lt Shaw with Army Special Forces about to be deployed to Syria in three weeks.

Original network provider* Globacom Ltd (GLO) "

edit: He had a very convincing American accent (or maybe an American working with a scam network??)

So...... this fellow used different names. When this happened to me I did searches on the various bits of information I had, the name "MONLADE ERIYOMI GERMAIN" kept coming up on forums of people that had been scammed and were reporting what happened. The links I posted were simply in my little text file on some notes I have saved. If someone gets an email from "Lt. Shaw" trying to give you a so called great deal on something because he has a special inside connection, or from "MONLADE ERIYOMI GERMAIN" especially with a southern NC phone number, the point is, these are bits of information someone may search on, and use to discover that he tried to scam others specifically that spoke up and posted what happened. The "others" had posted the info nicely, and then the searcher of this information gleaned from emails trying to scam them matching said information to others experiences, and thus are better assured they are a target by a scammer via email/phone.... THEN, for those inclined to spend time/able to spend time, there are channels to get such people in trouble/exposed. If I had time and so forth I could have reported "Lt Shaw" to authorities. BUT pragmatically I believe for the time I had, collecting information was the best I could do at the time.

Anyhow, I do not have the time and inclination now to do more than post a bit of information which may help others. I am working on getting employment, and such things of life in the world these days.

In reality, I was just answering a question. If some scammer ever particularly annoys/bothers you, you also can collect information before the scammer figures out his gig with you is not a gig with a easily duped person. I never did before because there are so many scams. I have a bunch in my spam box now, as I am sure many reading this do. In the particular case in question, the fellow got between me and my fiance. That was enough annoyance to me personally to string him along a bit to gather intel to hurt his scam a bit, even though I was busy.

Anyhow, enough said. This here place is about trucks...

The links are simply other forums showing people's experiences with this scammer.
