That sounds great! Man, those are some crazy miles! Is that solo??
But I'm confused because I looked on the site (if I'm looking right) and it looks like they don't hire out of Washington.

They never put the new hiring areas up on the map. We have a location near Boise and hire out of Boise, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and have guys in Spokane, Twin Falls and I think Phoenix as well. The terminal is in Caldwell, Idaho.

And yes, the majority of drivers are solo, me included. I think we may have one team on reefer and maybe a few on the entertainment side.

Saw a Lessors go by as I pulled out of Spoon River Rest Area (I-74 about 20 miles west of Peoria), caught up with it at the Peoria bridge over the Mississippi, then went on. Am now in a parking lot on I-74, someone said a four-wheeler went over a bridge but it has both sides stopped.

I look over and here's that Lessors side-by-side with me. Very cool. "How do you like Lessors?" I asked. He shrugged that giveaway shrug, "It's okay, I guess." Been with 'em about six months.

    You know what THAT means...

Just okay on a good day.

    Here we go again!!

I too was stuck behind that at the 18mm until I could get to a turn around then detour. Turned out to be a fatal, truck hit bridge pillar so hard it drove the load of catfood thru the front of trailer and tractor.

Well, where's that next reel?? Saw it a little earlier, just been a little busy to put it up. Besides, the wind or something keeps blowing the outside door open... like old ghosts passing through again.

By now, no doubt, some of you have convinced yourselves that you know the GordonDuo. Think again. Gerdin's Dream is FICTIONAL, it's a parody and Gordon had 2,000 seats back when it really was Gordon--whatever THAT means. We know better now what it wasn't, it wasn't the long haul outfit touted, portrayed and defended in this thread.

Most of Gordon ran short haul loads. Most.

If you got recruited out of this thread and signed on to a short haul, regional outfit like Gordon by mistake, well, so be it. Gordon is a big place. It has sectors, regions, channels, divisions and much, much more. Gordon could probably fit you in somewhere. I left because of the low pay.

Yes, most of Gordon's seats, 99% of them, switched out every six months or so and certainly every year but there was still a large cadre who considered themselves part of the Gordon family, with all that that implies--good, bad and cranky. Families are loyal in quirky ways. They squabble within and unite together against the outside. They have a palpable bond. They are connected.

And, yes, in Gerdin's Dream you may see elements of drivers you know here on TTR--and why wouldn't you? You may see other elements, too. Gerdin's Dream, again, is FICTIONAL, a PARODY meant to explore why Heartland would kick some of Gordon's best out to the gate... turn them out. Move on, little drivers. Git-a-long.

Were they too Gordon for HTLD? Dunno. Were there safety issues due to braggadocio that in the event of a calamity could bite HTLD in its earnings statements? Dunno. Whatever it was, it probably wasn't just the luck of the draw. It could have been as simple as not wanting loose wheels recruit drivers who want something different from what they could realistically expect from HTLD. After all, recruiting's expensive.

    Dunno. It's all speculation.

But the respect that Gerdin expresses for the GordonDuo is real--at least I think it is. No, you're right, it's not MY personal opinion, it's the respectful estimation Gerdin expresses in his Dream, even if he felt it better for all concerned that the GordonDuo move on, he respects them as drivers, as professionals. Trucking professionals.

Will Gerdin screw Gordon up as some Gordon drivers still with HTLD fear? Dunno. Some think he already has. Dunno. HTLD made $5 million less in earnings than it did in the same quarter last year without Gordon, when it was 2,000 seats smaller. Gerdin has his work cut out.

    Stay tuned.

Oh yeah. Learn how to work kid. Stop blaming others for your failures. It's not a good impression.
