I just wanted to share this somewhat useful article for people who have been looking on craigslist for jobs. As someone who has been monitoring it regularly for supply chain jobs (but not driving) I can confirm that there are a lot of suspicious looking job ads posted on craigslist daily. Things to beware of are broken English, unrealistically high salaries, company name not given, no or little experience required, bitly links (links that show tohse gibberish abbreviated links instead of the actual domain when you hover over them), etc.

To summarize: craigslist is full of scammers so if the ad doesn't give the company name use common sense before you send personal information or click on a link. You can google craigslist + job + scams and find several other articles.

Perhaps in some instances. But I've found 2 jobs so far on CL, one of which I'm interviewing for tomorrow and where 4 former coworkers work and have nothing but good to say about the gig. On top of that (I know this is gonna stir something up) but I met my girlfriend there and we've been together 7 years and have 2 wonderful kids together.

It's not all trash, but you've gotta sort through the megacarriers bulk posting (US Express and Western Express the biggest offenders in my area), as well as the plethora of third party recruiters who post stuff obviously too good to be true just to generate calls.

Just like you should never send $$ to an agency who claims that they can find you a job. That's a sure fire way of never seeing your money again or a job that's just an illusion.
Craigslist on the whole is a scam but you may find a few nuggets of truth. But is it worth taking all your time up trying to find them.

Wait a minute, I'm sitting here in Camaroon right now waiting on a phone call for this 250k a year job that was advertised back home in my local paper in Picuyune Ms, all I had to do was fly over here on my dime and meet Haji in this Internet cafe, I've been here a week now, just waiting on Haji to show with all the details.

I guess you're gonna tell me that a Nigerian prince whose family died in a horrific accident isn't going to deposit $10,000,000 USD into my account either.....
