I can't answer any of your questions. I know a few did run the system but I'm not sure if they still do since the company changed the way fuel surcharge is paid.

Thanks FTH. It seems like a excellant opportunity. If one can control their expenses it appears you could be very profitable. Just to clarify, the FSC is paid on all dispatched miles, loaded and empty?

What changes did they make to the way they pay Fuel Surcharges?

Used to they only paid the fuel surcharge on loaded miles. Now they cut the surcharge rate in half but pay it on all dispatched miles. Most I think benefit a little but the few owner ops that ran system freight were negatively affected quite a bit.

    Redman30 Thanks this.

I live about 50 miles from the Jeffersonville terminal. What are my chances of getting hired out of school without recent experience?

Used to be they wanted 3 years. Now lately it's down to one year. Fresh out of school with zero OTR, this probably isn't the place for u yet. This isn't just a driving job, there's tank operation required, and the tanks bottom line are less than a foot from the road. Now that's not saying you won't be considered, it's always case by case, just saying it's best to get the driving aspect of the job under your belt first.

    D'nice Thanks this.

I have experience, just not anything recent. Driving a truck isn't a problem, used to train folks to do that.

    Thanks for the reply though.

As I said, case by case. Some people take to the job like they've been trained for it their whole life, some will never grasp it.
