Dont sign a contract with ANY carrier. there are tons of companies out there willing to give a newbie a fair chance without asking for you to sign your life away. AND some of those same companies let you put inverters of various sizes on their trucks. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.
patience and tolerance and vital traits in this industry.

Training you don't team drive, your trainer is in the passenger seat, you sleep at the same time. If you get a trainer of opposite sex, you get a motel. It's not like you sleep in the same bed. It's only 1-3 weeks.
The biggest thing with you is paying thousands in tuition for a shorter-term career. It doesn't seem like a great investment given you'll only drive 2 years. But you have to do something, right?
I think it'll be easier for you given you have a class B. If you're not committed to driving class A, and it's not a long term deal anyway, why not just find a class B job?
I also wonder how you'll feel about home time. It's a big adjustment. -

I will agree that it does take longer than one day to master shifting. I'll back off on that point. But, HLaird, can you not pick up on the attitude of " I Think I Am Special "?
Can't Anyone Else Hear This? (besides marinedriver and roaddog) -
As for the inverter issue, they make fridges, TV's, GPS, & laptops with a car plug already... so if you must have your luxaries you just need to spend a little $ to get the right ones. I really hope you weren't planning on a desktop computer cause I actually tried that once and believe you me it doesnt work out well.
If you can't accept that you are a newb and you will have to do the same crap everyone else had to myself included, then you just will have to find another career. -
I think he forgot the kitchen sink, stove, shower, toliet, and washer and dryer.
GPS ??? learn to read a map.
WHAAAAAA
They are not the only company out there
Know the job and doing the job are two differant things. Well you sure are the super driver 500,000 miles in a car There are drivers out there that have that many miles in reverse in an truck. -
You'r expectations are way too high, good luck bud.

Get a job driving a bus. Paying big money to learn how to drive rigs is an idiotic move, even moreso if you're planning on staying in for only a short time. You already have the class-B, so put it to work.
