Doesn't matter if you have a card or not. Marijuana is still illegal on a federal level. Smoke pot, test dirty and you'll be out if a job.

You should have no problem getting a Fast card as it has nothing to do with anything other then criminal convictions. It isn't like you are behind on child support.

I do not smoke marijuana and never have used any illegal drugs. I have never tasted beer. I do not do anything that would impair my thought process. However, this nation is changing its attitudes on marijuana. It is becoming legal. We are going to have to deal with the fact that there are drivers out there who have partaken of the evil weed. I do not know what effects marijuana has or how long they last but I think we should start having an intelligent discussion on the subject.

Until they change the FMCSA regulations, I do not expect to see them accepting marijuana.

This is an everyday all day occurrence now, making it legal won't change that much. You just don't hear about it because it's so far down the list of "causes of accidents" as it's only a small % of the small % of ALL drug related accidents...If you're really concerned with being around high drivers, only one way to minimize risk, avoid areas with fast food establishments, good luck with that!

When the time comes what will happen when it is legalized federally? Guys out there smoking joints and driving. Couldn't pay me enough to be on the same road as them.

To answer your question, possibly. You can't cross the border with medical pot, it may be a road bump for you in the application process. It will come up during the interview process if you get that far.
