No BS on this lighting system. Works great no faults codes, well thought out and easy to do.
Still need to polish the crappy volvo plastic light housing to stop it from yellowing but the lights are the perfect upgrade.
Dave istalled about 8 of his ligh conversion kits at the HDT rally. Every one was blown away with them.

There is a video of the complete installation on youtube and a side by side comparison ,the kit is good, wiring harness included no trip to Volvo necessary the lighting computer is satisfied - watch the last 2 minutes of a long vid blue skies provided.

Daves are 4300K I think, very white ,a colour that will not attract un wanted attention ,not like the lifted pick-up shine that blue light in my eyes crowd -
100% righrt. We're in it for the nightime lightning. Stick with the white and dont pick anything over 5000ks

I am right now at a Volvo dealer for alignment and while waiting I asked the guys there about this thing and they say I will have fault codes, I will have to reprogram with the new light parameters and it will overheat coz of powerful light and will melt the connectors and such.
How much truth is in it ?
Then the next question is there is anyone here who has them installed by himself and for how long so I can have the facts straight first hand and not stories heard at the third hand.
I'm dead serious when I say I wanna buy so some questions are legit I think before spending 400$.
Thanx again for input. -
No Fault codes will be set, I have run them at night for 8 hr on the way home from Tenn. Dave spent a lot of time on these getting the current draw down so they will not set codes. The balist used takes less than a minute to reach full power. This keeps from setting codes as well, no power surge to se a code.
So I can say first hand that these lights will not set any codes.

Check which hid kit/s/ you are installing. I believe the vnl needs the high tech ballast, designed for vehicles with the system like the volvos. I've installed my hid kit about 3 years ago. No problems yet. Ballasts are good and the bulbs have not been replaced yet. Most likely it is time for the replacement. I'll need to take the headlight out. -
Volvo techs didn't watch the same video as you did I guess. No codes on mine or anyone else that converted that weekend.
Heat is not a issue because I guess that it uses LESS power ,if you remember from the demo a led had to be added to bring power up to what the lighting computer expects.I have put my hand on it and would estimate the temp at slightly more then body temp ,I could leave my hand on it indefinitely .
So no codes no trips to the dealer no excessive heat the only question is longevity.
time will tell.The_Judge Thanks this. -
Thanx for the input. I'll place the order in few days.
