God, I hope not. Grabbing gears in a big rig is one of the most satisfying parts of the job. Dad taught me that when I was about knee high. If you can't operate a manual transmission, you shouldn't be anywhere near a CMV. The more control you have over the truck, the better.
OldHasBeen, drvrtech77, milskired and 5 others Thank this. -
Wyldhorses I love you man, never change bro, never change.
wyldhorses and mje Thank this. -
Well the Swifties have definitely proven they are not capable of steering and gearing at the same time. Good, they can stay at the training companies and those who can shift manually can take the good paying jobs.

And everyone wonders why there seems to often times be such a rift between old/new drivers--maybe its just the wonderment we get when these types of announcements and blanket statements are made by newcomers--
Besides when I started(back in the stoneage--lol) We were all gonna be flyin George Jetson freight saucers! And I was sposed to have my PERSONAL jet Pak years ago!TwinStickPeterbilt, fortycalglock, Tonythetruckerdude and 10 others Thank this. -
Considering the source, you just know I can only vest all my faith in this statement.
