There are two words that seem to never happen in these types of discussions.

    No and Intelligent.

Again, I do not and have never done anything to my body that was illegal.

Today the FBI has decided to drop the requirement that an applicant to the FBI will be disqualified because of past marijuana use. That is not the OP question. He asked about entry into Canada. He did not mention he had ever used marijuana, just that he had be given a card where he could do so legally. He would not be allowed to bring marijuana across the boarder.

Do I see any problems with him going into Canada? No. I do not think there will be any place on the application where he would be asked a question about something that a doctor told him to use.

If that works for you, great. What another adult does in his own off time that doesn't affect you is none of your business. Don't like pot? Don't smoke it. Don't like booze? Don't drink it. But don't tell other adults what constitutes intelligence in their eyes as refusal of rationale discussion is anything but.

There's no such thing as doing pot on your downtime while holding a CDL. If you get called for a random you're screwed. I know two guys who smoked pot for years and thought they had the system beat; they did til this year when the system got smarter. They both got a nice cozy three months off to clean up their act before being allowed back in a truck and are now subject to monthly tests. Neither was as smart as they thought. How's that for intelligence?

What does that have to do with -your- business? Not a thing. It's not your license and your nobody's mother. Grown adults can weigh the consequences and intelligently decide on their own what risks to take.

You know, we had the same fear mongering when Amendment 64 passed in Colorado, and the tidal wave they expected turned out to not even be a ripple. The people who did drive stone.. did so before Amendment 64. There was no increase in incidents. Fact of the matter is, you've already shared the road with people who were drunk or high.. you were just fortunate enough not to find out firsthand.
And if we're giving confessionals here, yeah, I've pretty much done anything short of hitting rocks and tapping the vein. But that was all in the past.

Growing up during the time when there were many pot smokers, I can remember that most were well under the influence for days after they smoked on a weekend and were not capable of much in the way of coordination, thought processes and such.

You can make what ever stand you want, but the memory of these guys and the rules we have are in the best interest of the people on the highways.

You want to smoke it, do not even think about a future in this business.

Well if the jerk who decides to smoke, or drink, is on the same roads I am it has everything to do with me. Funny how drunks and potheads never weigh the consequences for the other people they affect. #### selfish if you ask me.
