Probably because they can't find anyone else to operate manual transmissions. When you scrape the bottom of the barrel eventually you gotta switch to a new barrel to scrape the bottom of.

Honestly I would've loved an auto when I did beverage delivery locally. Red lights are your clutch knees worst enemy. I got real good at timing out lights #### quick!

I believe that this makes what I heard about no trucks being built after 2015 with manual transmissions ring true.

I remember reading an article that talked about the imminent demise of the manual transmission for automobiles. I believe it was in Popular Science in 1962.

Well, I gotta go and get into my "Sleep Pod of the Future!" and drink my "Only Food I'll Ever Have to Eat Again!"

Talked to a buddy today who drives a Volvo with an Ishift daily in the oil fields up in ND. Dr and that off road he said are about worthless out in those fields. He hates the auto and keeps asking for his old rattle box of a freightliner back just because it was a pre emissions truck with an 18 speed.... I've have not driven a an auto or rode in a truck with one. I don't ever want to either just my opinion. I'm not a veteran of this industry by any means, had my cdl since 05, and I will say I would put my money on saying 99 out of 100 drivers with my little experience wouldn't drive the old mack I drive most days at my current job because of it being an old mack 6 speed, if you don't know, well yeah. If we still had trucks with a 6x4 or a 5x4 like this place use to I would drive it simply because I would like to know how and because I think it would be fun!

Absolutely. By 2015, Steeringwheelholders will be too stupid to do anything besides hold the steeringwheel. The more stupid drivers they can hire, the more they can cut your wages.

And you guys have to deal with it just to keep a job. You guys haven't seen cheap wages yet. Enjoy!

It was Volvo and only Volvo that said "ishift only" after 2015 ..............unless you want a manual then we will build you one .
might have to wait a bit though.
