I'm in a 2013 Peterbilt 587 and the back panel lights on the gauges aren't lighting up, can't see any of my gauges at night now. I checked the fuses that I have access to, and replaced nearly all of them but it didn't fix it. Does anybody know where the fuse is located for these lights? I'm assuming that's the problem, but it's not located in the side box on the passenger side where all my other fuses are. The dimmer switch is working for the computer on the dash, that displays your mpg and such, I'm using that right now to see my rpms. I don't understand why everything else just went out. I need help in fixing this asap, thanks.

Mine does that too. Believe it or not the next time I turn the key off and back on they start working again.

No fuse for them, they're powered by the body control module. You need the Paccar ESA program to diagnose.

Like hart posted above, my lights lit back up after the truck was turned off for a few this morning while fueling up. I have no idea why they did that, maybe something shorting out?
I had tried when I first woke up that morning, and found out that they weren't working, to turn the truck off and then started it again thinking maybe it was just a small glitch and it would fix itself, it didn't work at that time, but the difference later when I was fueling was that the truck was off for about 30 minutes while fueling before being restarted, so I guess it just needed more time of being off to reset. I don't know, I hate mechanical stuff. -

I hd this problem before and the solution is actually simpler then you think, all you really need to do is get a flashlight.

Get your dealer to check ESA very recent update which fixes this issue.

They'll do that when the key is left 'on' with the running lights on for an extended period of time. There is no fuse. Simply get in the truck with brakes set and doors shut turn the key to 'on' let it do its thing then turn it back off..... repeat severl times and it usually resets the system.
