We are also getting a special rate on fuel in 4 western states right now it's an extra 10 cents off per gallon at pilot for AZ,CA,OR and WA. so that's where we are running this week. It started May 7th and they haven't said for how long. So the pilot discount went down this week to .18 but in these 4 states we are getting .28. Last week it was .32. Hope it lasts a while.

are there enough money paying load in those states..it seems like a limited area just to save 30 to 40 extra dollars for the week

Great loads in CA. Up the coast. Coming into CA doesn't pay great but leaving does so average both directions makes for a very good week. It is not unusual to see loads out of CA paying over 2 bucks a mile. It makes up for the ones going in that only pay a dollar or so.

is anyone driving an evo...curious as to whether the better fuel mileage is worth a higher payment

We have a 2014 Evo and we are getting great mileage about 7.5 average but I don't see it as a higher cost. The "Premium" trucks have a 5 grand down payment but I think the payments are the same. And the used trucks have lower payments but the maintainance cost goes up so the payments are about the same with whatever truck you get. At least with the new one you have a warranty.

Is 7.5 considered great mileage? My '07 with a detroit 60 gets 6 running the dawg #### out of it.

I'm driving a '11 Freightliner dd15 company truck and getting 7.0 comfortably..I'm thinking more along the lines of going with a used for my first year to make sure it's going to work out before I throw another five grand away for nothing..from what I understand I can always upgrade after one year anyway is that right

7.5 with 44,000 lbs going 70. Probably could do better if we slowed down. And that's just average we get more and less and go faster and slower too. Currently we are on CA and the speed limit is less and we are getting 8.2 with 40,000 lbs.
