I could care less, my preaching was the fact that someone is on here crying about what the towing company did after an arrest... I've had a DUI before and my car was impounded, I was an IDIOT... I was arrested last year in Indianapolis, Indiana and my Rig was impounded and what do you know? My wallet was stolen either by the police or the towing company who towed my 18wheeler... Did I come on here crying about my wallet be stolen and my Semi being TORN apart and ransacked from the floor all the way to the top bunk? No, I accept responsibility for my actions and suffer the consequences for the actions that caused me to go to jail... -
I'm not trying to be an ### but do you normally leave all that sensitive material in your car? My GF wouldn't let me drive across the street sober with her purse, checkbook, SS card or debit card in her car.Nightwind8830, millsjl01 and TruckDuo Thank this.

Please tell us the circumstances of your arrest last year.

I was at the Pilot on Harding street in Indianapolis and had two guys attempt to cause harm to me/rob me at 2oclock in the morning so in order to protect my self I pulled out my firearm and fired a few rounds off... Obviously a lot more to the story but not going to say much more its done and over with...My truck was Impounded for the week I was in the Marion County Jail... Cost me 600 to get the truck out of the impound, $5000 for a lawyer...Along with about 1500 more bucks for other BS I ended up going on trial and the charges ( Class C and Class D felony ) were thrown out of court... Anyhow that's all Im saying and don't worry I will never step foot on the soil of the Pilot or the FLying J or Mr fuel that's on harding street in Indianapolis, Indiana... Oh and I got my Gun and Firearms permit back so Im good to go, If the circumstances of that night were to happen again anywhere else while Im out on the road I wouldn't change a thing Id do it all over again if I have to... I'm not going to let another man harm me... especially when its 2 of them...HotH2o Thanks this.

i will make my wife take her purse out of the car next time i drive drunk
Nightwind8830 and TruckDuo Thank this. -
Point taken. Its a rough lesson to pay attention to what I leave in there, never did I think something like this would happen.never expected it,thus my outraged post about that company. the DUI he got started the whole thing. Doesn't make what the tow company did any better but the real lesson is not to put yourself in the situation to begin with. I don't regret my initial post about the company, they are ###### up and I'm glad I got to vent ,but I understand how leaving info in the car was stupid on my part.

By your own logic then, you deserved exactly what happened. Her bf acted like a fool and "deserved" to be ripped off, just like you.
Where I'm sitting, I hold the police to a higher standard that common criminals and would NEVER justify an abuse of authority because the person being arrested was a criminal. May as well go back to the court of public opinion and lynch mobs if we excuse miscarriage of justice with "well he was a fool and deserved whatever he got" or "he has no right to complain about being treated unfairly because he did an unfair or stupid thing."
An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.Nightwind8830 Thanks this. -
It does not matter why the car was towed. The issue presented is what happened to the contents of the car. And yes the contents should be safeguarded. But even if they were, Since they are not in the persons possession they should still cancel eveything.Nightwind8830 Thanks this.
