There's been so many times i'd pick up or deliver in a great mood and left there with the worst attitude that stayed with me all day and sometimes on thru the next day.One guard I remember did get fired for how he spoke to the drivers a guy on the dock told me.I remember him quite well.He treated and talked to the drivers like they were in boot camp. Some customers just plain hate drivers.
Hi patty, so true. When I'd run into a crabby foreman or dock personnel, I was always very courteous, because I knew they wanted me to get upset. I was always SO GLAD I could leave the place, and not deal with those schmos all day, and I think they knew that and were envious.
Got chewed out yesterday at a customer.

Some cust are just plain rude and there's nothing no one can do to change that. Its like they hate their job so the easiest person to take their anger out on is drivers. For the most part customers ive delivered to is about as nice as can be.Two in particular.I was scheduled to pick up a load of meat 10 am didn't get out of there till noon because they had trouble with their scale. That guy was so nice and apologetic.I took that to a packing house in Omaha and they were just as nice.I miss those 2 customers.
That's too bad, I used to take eggs and cheese into SuperValu in Green Bay. I'd go there everyday(or every other day), so they knew me, and knew I got paid by the hour, but those guys would get off on making the drivers who were in a hurry, madder and madder. I always felt so bad for those drivers.
Shippers and receivers seem to think that there is a universal set of rules that everyone uses so there is no reason we shouldn't know exactly how their process works.
I do my damndest to not let them get under my skin. It's simply not worth it.OPUS 7, "semi" retired, GenericUserName and 1 other person Thank this. -
