I'm typically pretty laid back at customers--and I do strictly OTR LTL--so i deal w/a lot of them--and some can really be a pain--I almost always kill em w/kindness--cause someone told me loooong ago--Its mind over matter--I dont mind cuz they dont matter--But in this situation--w/bosses kind of attitude--I doubt seriously--I could have kept my Smart ### in check--and could hear myself saying something like--Ill get right on that(as Im walking away)just as soon as y'all start opening MY doors and backing in for my while I go have coffee

Patty, I think you meant some customers "like" drivers. I've run in to a couple I think. Anyway, here's what works for me sometimes. Never let them know you're running out of hours. When a customer tells me to go ahead and back in the door, but it's going to be awhile...I always say, "Great. I need a nap." If they hear that, they'll load you before you turn the ignition off.
