FAT people are Discriminated against at prime

Prime Rib with Yorkshire Pudding........my favorite meal. Nice bottle of wine and PattyJ within arms length.....Oh, I am in heaven.

 

At 250 lbs, she would be 5'6" in any direction you'd care to measure!

I wouldn't hire her either. I'd be afraid she'd die on the flight deck, or have other health issues that will get in the way of driving.

 

Tried those things a few years ago.....tossed the whole kit out the window after a a few puffs....50 bucks down the drain for some tech bullcrap...

 

No offense, but a lot of organizations that do strenuous labor want someone physically fit. Like the police, you want someone to be in shape. We have standards for our physicals, and most people pass with flying colors. Look at me, I'm 6'2", 230 and I can do my two miles in 12 minutes, my push-ups and sit-ups in about half of the allotted time.

 

I prefer cops to be fat and lazy. Those are the ones that are more likely to not show up for a court appearance over a speeding ticket.

 

That must be from state to state or county to county.....have a pal who is a small town policeman....now he is very overweight and I doubt could catch a lady bug but in his town...heck he is loved and the whole town would probably go after the crooks for him...hehehe

 

Departmental fitness differs everywhere, different councils or legislators want different things. In GA there are talks for mandatory P.OS.T inspections when you try to get recertified.

 

With all due respect officer, my dad is a retired LEO and I did that job with an SO for a little over a year back in the early 1990's. I hated it. I hated the fact that 99% of the people you deal with don't want to deal with you until something bad happens to them and then of course you can't get there fast enough. I understand the Job from both sides and it just wasn't for me.

I do however, follow the ODMP page on Facebook and I see several deaths a year that are attributed to training exercises regarding physical fitness. To be honest with you...I don't think a person has to be in perfect physical condition to be a good LEO.

On another note, my personal physician, who is/was in good physical condition and frequently lectured me about my weight (I'm 5'10" and 230 lbs) and smoking, keeled over dead with a coronary two weeks ago while out jogging on his daily morning run.

Kinda makes you wonder doesn't it?

 

Police officers, especially in many of the much larger cities, really do need to be in good physical condition, along with being as sharp as possible. both SADLY and UNFORTUNATELY, many criminals are much more physically fit, faster, quicker, and much sharper than some of the police officers who are reining them in off of the streets.

As in the U.S. Military, police officers should required to maintain a certain level of physical fitness, or they get disqualified from continuing on as police officers. Peoples lives depend upon it.
