Now there's a truth, its all about the bottom line.

Much like a local company, they're constantly laying off employees who've been there a long time, while employing new hands, so they can pay them less money.

The way they do this is when they come to work in the morning, 2 guards will corm to them, & them escort them out of the buildings, saying, your personal items will be mailed to you, you will not be allowed to enter this building again. While this is taking place all the other employees are shaking in their shoes for fear tomorrow morning will be their turn.

Once I talked to a man who had been there quite sometime, he told me they would never get rid of him. Strange, the very next week on Monday morning two guards came to him as he arrived at his work station, them escorted him from the building.

Cheap labor, that's the bottom line for the mega carriers.

Spot on! Either you have self discipline or you don't. A man can't be taught discipline!

Why do you need an automatic? Answer is quite simple, you don't need one. Seriously, I was asking why manuals don't get stuck as easily in snow and ice, as automatics. If you know the answer, you have the evidence. If you don't know the answer, you're either very inexperienced... or rather clueless, or perhaps both.

Yup, they also don't do so well starting out in a much higher than normal gear either.

You have been really lucky then, as it doesn't take much at all to get one stuck. Little freezing rain, then about an inch of snow... and you will be spinning with a light load or empty.

I recall Schneider talking big a few years ago about going all auto, within a few months they were buying 10 speeds again. They're getting better and I'm sure eventually they'll rule the road, but that's probably a little ways off.

I disagree with this somewhat: if you teach your children discipline early, they tend to retain it; also, many ex-military are exceptionally disciplined people, because of what they learned in boot camp.
