The main difference is in the type of loads. Step decks require the driver to prop up some loads.
DaFranchize Thanks this. -
Thanks for the response

You can also carry bigger (taller) loads .
like oversize , tractors and equipment. -
Nice. Better my options, I like that. Do you drive in NJ or Baltimore? How are the ports?
-
If your asking me . I stay away from both if at all possible.
I don't go anywhere near ports . Thank god !!!! -
Why so? Any particular reason?
-
Step decks are usually heavier. Dundalk takes some getting used to but I don't mind it now. Actually prefer it. First time I was there I think I waited 3 hrs for someone to load me LOL.

I pull reefer so I really have no point in being in any ports , but hell I guess if the money is good I would pull a container.
Lol, kinda like a lot lizard . I would pull anything for the right amount t of money.Lux Prometheus Thanks this. -
No money in containers for time and hassle involved. Most flat loads will fit on a step, but not the other way around.
If going into ports, you will need a $132.50 TWIC card or pay for an escort which usually start @$50 per hour.DaFranchize Thanks this.
