I would say that 75% of those jobs are pretty good. I did it for Wilco several years ago and really enjoyed it and made fairly good money. Usually got started around 3am and most of the days were 12 hours. I worked a 4 and 3 week and I made around $1000 per week.

I talked with one in Chicago. Job paid $50k+, 8 hour shifts, off 2 days. I don't have the experience for the job yet but to me....this is the ideal job to have in this industry if you want a work/life balance.

Everyone thinks home daily is the Holy Grail of trucking. It isn't if you have to work 12-14 hour days and have a commute to get to work.

I would much rather run out and back dedicated tanker. It's easier and the home time is more quality.

You also get to relax a little between cities rather than battling traffic all day or working the graveyard shift to avoid it. Gas dropping jobs generally service the larger metro areas so you spend a lot of time fighting traffic

If you are in Chicago look up Altom transport, I don't know if they pay the best but when I worked for them in Baltimore the benefits and equipment were outstanding. My company I'm with now is really great, pays by the hour and easy work, but I think the closest opening we have to you is in Ohio. I know we are also looking to add drivers in Willmington De, parts of PA, and Wheeling WV.

I know Altom. Tom(the co-owner) shops at a store I managed. Talked with them about a job. They require 2 years experience.

    Drivers seemed happy.

Transport Service co is offering a 48c/48c per mile (loaded/empty) deal for guys who want to haul chemicals. I don't know all of the specifics and I'm sure you need to have one year of trucking experience OTR. There's no sign on bonus with these numbers.
Im an O/O but it sounds a decent deal for anyone who wants to make good $$. Oh BTW to earn that, they will want you to stay out a min of 14 days. But if you're OTR you really have to stay out anyway.
TSC is a subsidiary of KAG so it's worth checking out. You can apply online.
You're always pretty much going to make more $$ with chemicals than FG. I've done both and as there's plenty of freight, you're going to run with Transport. Non of this 1500 miles a week stuff.
Im only putting this out to you, to consider. Best thing to do is check it out yourself. I don't have all the answers but I'm happy with what I'm doing as an O/O. If you find something better, then go for it.
    Good luck.

Most of the better gas hauling jobs like Sunoco, Mobil, Getty etc. are gone. 4 days a week, mid $60s a year with great benefits. Not many jobs left like that anymore.
