Probably.
You will even get a new physical when you go to orientation.04 Stroke Thanks this. -
Would I be able to go straight to the driving and skip some of the classroom stuff. The prime recruiter said I would not have to do it since I already have my permit. But I don't know if that's true.

I would take the classroom time as "brushing up" on your skills.

Prime will probably want their doctor to do a physical, no idea about Roehl, but I would assume it would be the same. As for who will give you better training.............hmm, I would say if you click with your trainer the first 30 day CDL training will be better at Prime. The second part of teaming for 60 to 90 days under the guise of having a trainer in the truck.......if you get someone who really wants to train then you will have additional good training, if you get someone who needs your and your log book............yeah, you will have someone in the truck to help you out of a jamb if the need arises. What would be ideal is to find a company that has the intense 30 day training like Prime does and then the 90 day super solo mix where the trainer still sits in the jump seat for the most part, but is actively there to assist in trip planning, backing into tight docks, logs, paperwork, and running your life from the road. That would be my hope for all new drivers. What company is that? I don't know, but I bet someone here has it scoped out.

Hey there, having a permit only means you can legally drive with a licensed driver in the truck. You would have to return to your home to get your licence after you have finished passing the skills test. But i have a feeling that you will be encouraged to to retake the CDL exam at the Prime school as part of your terms of employment. That being said, they would have to have authority by the state licencing commission of Missouri as a 3rd party tester to qualify you. That's usually how these things get complicated. Your Dot physical will not be used by Prime. They only use their private Doctor. Then they are going to require you spend a couple of months working on some dude's truck as a trainee earning min wages until you are upgraded to a full time employee. Then you will have to run team ( two men in a truck...sounds kinda kinky) and split the mileage pay. Then after all that is said and done, they will sell you a lease option that pays for their equipment as you work off the debt of going to Prime's Trucking School. Hopefully you will learn a lot from your trainers and begin a long career as a Truck Driver.
