Myself, I am one to judge a book by its cover, I also judge a company by the trucks that are pulling for them. The "majority" of the trucks that I see leased to Daily are in disrepair, that tells me that they more than likely have rates that are not all to good. I think they would be at the bottom of my list to call if I was looking to lease onto a different carrier.
leftlanetruckin, passingthru69, 281ric and 2 others Thank this. -
I see that as a way to steal reward from my risk. Those $5/mi loads are more involved and run fewer miles per week, they have delays for curfews, holidays, Sundays, and have you stop for the night in places where you need to pay for a motel.
Nope, if the rate per mile is higher, there is a reason for that! You don't cut my percentage down on higher rates! That's BS.
I hope greedy pukes like the ones running ATS and Daily choke to death on their greed! -
I think you missed the point....
If you haul freight that should pay $5 mile for $3 mile then it really doesn't matter what percentage they payrobert929 and leftlanetruckin Thank this. -
Man, I thought the rate hit was bad where I'm at..
Then if reading the info right that was posted, you do not get a full 100% of the tarp charges. Last I knew you had to supply your own tarps and padding and assc. gear. -
I gave up chasing miles a long time ago, but to each their own.
Current gig is a prime example, @1300 miles a week is all I'll be doing, and 50% of that is deadhead. Hmmm, fuel once a week, still get a very good amount sent home every week, for quite a few weeks, take @3-4 days off every week, and so on. Yep, I'll take my 67% thanks.
Martin281ric Thanks this. -
I did pilot car work for Daily for super heavy haul loads. send load info in and next week got a check. never any trouble paying. drivers get paid and company drivers got paid on time. last year made alot of money with Daily this year a little slower but found another heavy haul company that pays a little better for pilot cars...M

daily offered me $2.03/mi avg. and wanted me to suspend my authority,so i had to decline because we get $2.50/mi local with steps and flats. I do od loads up to 55,000lbs currently on 5 axle set up and it is fight to get loads and good rates from the load boards consistently so if you vets want to inbox me some good contacts i won't be offended lol
