Giltner started OK years ago before I quit 6 months ago, but progressively got worse and worse with fewer and fewer miles. For instance, the fuel card stopped working frequently, leaving me stranded at the pumps. Also, a lot of 3:30 am deliveries at walmart DC, including many weekend deliveries at 3:30 am, where there wasnt any reload until monday. If their retread trailer tires blow, they blame the driver or take forever to approve the repair at a truckstop. Overall, Giltner has a very low opinion of truck drivers and attempts to blame the driver for many things that is their own fault throught their incompetance.

I have to admit, Giltner put a negative mark on my DAC too. When I quit, giltner shorted me on the last trips I did for them. Needless to say I complained, and thats when they put negative stuff they just dreamed up on my DAC. They just go back to a load you delivered months ago on time with NO problems and then they claim it never was delivered at all when you quit. Pure BS. The value of these loads far exceed paying the driver when he quits. No carrier would continue to re-load a driver whose load disappeared months ago! Ridiculous!

DeBoer did the same thing to me. They put on my DAC that I quit under a load. But with QUALCOMM you have to ACKNOWLEGE the load in order to be "under" it. I was a Midwest regional driver for them at the time. They KNEW I was quitting because Roehl called them to confirm my employment there. I never acknowleged the final load they sent to my QUALCOMM on my final friday, I only sent them a free form text stating thanks but no thanks because A. I was starting at Roehl the following Monday B. The trip they tried to put me on was going to Pheonix, Az and my instincts told me they were going to send me down there and keep me away from Wisconsin so I couldn't go to my new job. C. I didn't trust them anymore. The truth? They infact COULD have DAC'd me for "quitting without notice" and I wouldn't have a leg to stand on. When asked by my current employer why I didn't give notice I said: "After the way I was treated there, they weren't worthy of 2 wks notice. Wisconsin is a right to work state, which means an employee can leave their employer at any time for any reason, just like an employer can terminate an employee at any time for any reason, goes both ways in my book. Roehl got 2 wks notice when I left to come to you. Why? Because while my paychecks were rotten, they were always atleast respectful. There's value in that."

Im afraid Giltner wrecked my DAC as well, only because I wanted them to pay my final loads after I quit. Then they DAC'd me to stop my complaints and I cant find another trucking job because of it. They are basically going out of business because they cant compete with the .25 cents a mile carriers like England, so they have switched to multi-stop LTL freight, often taking days to put on multiple stops within 20 or 30 miles over that couple of days. Impossible to make a living running that few miles.

Yeah, giltner put a bad mark on my DAC too, because I was complaing about the $1700.00 they shorted me when I quit. The truck giltner gave me was infested with bed bugs in both seats (no one even sat in the passanger seat while I had the truck) that they wouldnt fix. I reported them to the health dept & thats when they stole my $1700.00 & damaged my DAC.

You can do both online from this page.

Truck Drivers should be advised that when they are targeted with a bad DAC, that they should immediately dispute the DAC Report with HireRight. It's important that they dispute the DAC in a very detailed manner, line by line, fact by fact. HireRight's forms are limited in space, but they will accept a typed up supplement (i.e., your own attachment). Once the dispute is investigated and the furnisher of the report (your past employer) fails to correct the report, you may have a claim against the furnisher if you are then denied a job because of the disputed data. Also, if you are denied employment because of a DAC Report, the employer is supposed to provided you with certain notices on how to get a free copy of the DAC Report and notice that you can dispute the report (if you apply via internet, fax and other non-in-person means). If you apply in person, the employer must provide you with a copy of the report and a copy of your dispute rights BEFORE it decides not to hire you.
