The way the DOT is anymore. I have a feeling they will be looking at dumb stuff like this to get revenue. A single truck driver has no need for the seat belts in the sleeper, but you know how safety is.

Maybe I will stash them under the bunk and tell any LEO that askes, "Since I am the truck owner and only driver, I will make sure and hook them back up for my safety the next time that I find myself wanting to take a sleeper break and the truck is in motion." Of course if that situation happens, I better be ready to take a drug scan.

True enough on all points! Its sad that our rights have been exploited to this point. What needs to be done is a reform of our drug laws and end the failed, so called war on drugs! It's time to regulate and tax marijuana first, then, lets look at fixing the problem with the other drugs. Another good place to start would be with the legal drug empire, aka, "'the big Pharmaceutical companies". Google LEAP or law Enforcement against prohibition. oopss off topic!

A few years ago I met a guy that was setting up a show truck, he wound up getting DOTd in Texas due to a couple poor decisions he made about what he thought looked cool but didnt agree with the green book.

One of the tickets he got was for no bunk belts even though he was a solo operation, now im sure that he probably pizzed off the cop enough to look for anything to write up anything he could find.

Ive taken tnem off of trucks in the past and have never had a cop look further back than the front seats but with as cheap as i am and knowing my luck it would truly break my heart to write a $150 or whatever check for something that I can easily ignore.

If i call FMCSA and they say its ok theyre gone. A ticket is the same as burning money to me.

At some point, its better to just be quiet and let them go.

You should look up Home land security, they can now haul you off and throw you in jail at will.

This happened to me in indianapolis at night. #ucking cops stopped me and searched my truck for an hour for drugs. 3 police cars. then they let me go saying "if you are not smuggling drugs, we are sorry for this". After this I threw away all my food cause apparently they went through it too (they said "it smelled deliciouse") I hate this government do what they want. Forget about any privacy.

I don't even care for the "pinning" as much as I hate someone going through my stuff. these cops do it. You sit in their police car while they go through your stuff and no way you can prove anything. They'll just screw you over big time even if you try to resist them. I must have a truck that attracts these searches:(

What kind of truck? Maybe when it's time I become an O/O I don't want to be giving off bad vibes...
