It's worse. This is the "information" that the average person gets, from an apparently credible source. A solid TV news program, especially one featured on a network that specializes in only news reports. Which they then act upon by calling on their government officials to do stuff. That one factually void news report will be seen, and form the opinion of, thousands of viewers.

Most people are too naïve to know that what they see on TV is summarized to be sensational enough to keep them from changing the channel, and to tease a viewer into sitting through the commercial break to watch the feature. The important details are too boring so they are left out.

IMHO major news shows and networks are basically...

    ... drug pushers.

    Think about it.

They make money by selling advertising. Stop and think about what products are advertised most heavily during the news hour? Most of that time is purchased by major drug companies.

    Ergo, they are drug pushers.

It's a shame that most people eat up this sensationalized ignorant "content" and form beliefs from it. Any time I've been privy to the facts behind a news story and read and hear what the "journalists" are spewing as truth I just have to laugh, cry, or throw up.

They are charging the driver with as many counts as possible because once they file charges they can't go back and add they can only downgrade or dismiss. I live in NJ and I never heard if this law that they have about driving after awake for 24 hours. I think they just charged him with that to see if it would stick.

Its been on the books for at least 10 years. I remember discussing this law with friends (before I was a CDL holder) wondering how the heck something like that could ever be proved if you were stopped for fatigued driving.

    Winkjr Thanks this.

What law are you referring to? I watched the video and didn't hear that charge.

Thanks, but they passed that law because the driver was on crack, otherwise it's kinda of difficult to stay up for 30 hours. (lol) Sorry for the girls death but laws like that aren't the answer and I think this 'Maggies Law' would be irrelevant to this accident.

So did I hear the judge correctly? is he being allowed to go back to work?
