looks high tech and cool, but i would have to see some actual mpg cliames and studies to buy it.

That may be, but you are buying an equipment from a trusted manufacturer. These KR Conway made trailers may be solid, but have they really been road and load tested? I dont know, it might be a good trailer. But what you gain in fuel savings you might spend in repairs and down time, kinda like these new trucks.

By the way is this the trailer with sliding kingpin or is that next generation?

Good trailers, but you may occassionally be annoyed by the wide e-track spacing.

Con-Way Truckload has about 8,000 of them pulling 48,000 lb loads of dog food, copper wire, etc. They run em for 10 years, replace a few hoses & slap a "remanufactured" plaque on the nose, and run em for another 3-5...

Personally, I'd just buy a used Conway/CFI trailer and modify as desired...

Skirts block most of the air from getting under the trailer at all causing brakes, bearings and tires to run hotter. Under trays have channels that blow air directly on the brakes I believe, plus you get the natural airflow on the tires. Just my understanding of it.

Well that's exactly what paid spokesman Kevin Rutherford says. Funny thing though -- I didn't see him removing side skirts from the signature glider so I guess tractor tires, brakes, and bearings are immune from all this devastating heat. Or maybe that stream of air passing through the 230* radiator and alongside the 180* block, 130* Transmission, and 1200* DPF has super cooling abilities that diminish by the time it reaches the tandems.

KR has the occasional good idea, but follow him blindly and you'll wind up with a $200,000 truck that gets only 8 mpg at 57 mph...

That's why the vorblade turbo skirts do not block the wind but channels it. Looks like theirs are shorter too. Less chance of tearing them up when curb hopping.

Has there been any independent testing done? I read somewhere about some independent testing not giving the underneath design very good marks. I'm pretty sure it was the Technology and Maintenance Council testing results I was reading.

Of course if you run California you have to have something approved regardless.

Before everyone jumps on me you might be wise to do your own research on the testing that has been done.

Thought about used but adding all I wanted is too much chasing, bad enough we have to maintain our trucks...

pricing all the gizmos and installation to a new Utility would be an interesting comparison... I am burnt on researching this having to set up s corp and get authority and all in order before I make the jump..
