Most Big Businesses do not have any plans to go with Vista, most software will work with XP for the next 5 years for so.
My wife works for one of the big truck makers, and just last year they upgraded to WinXP.
WinXP will be supported (security updates) by microsoft for like 5 years

hell you can still find plenty of games and programs that are compatible with Win98 and ME. I don't see a problem for at least 10 years and by that time Vista will be gone by the way side.
As long as there is demand there will be a supply. -
I just bought a new computer a bit back and refused Vista and had to pay MORE for Windows XP. My bro wanted it on his computer so I put it on (took FOREVER on a fast computer!)...about 2 weeks or so and he was literally begging for me to take it back off. I will NEVER get Vista. Worse comes to worse, I'll buy a Mac.

I have one laptop that I did that with XP and one that still has VISTA.
MY desk computer has XP. I have to tell ya, when it comes to loading programs XP is much better!

Cybergal eBay and eBay express are full of laptops with XP. NEW Lenovo R61 for just under $600 on eBay express.

You can still get a Thinkpad with XP for $35 extra from the factory.

If you order a DELL Laptop, you still have a choice of XP or Vista -
The key to watch for is "END OF LIFE" - that's when M$ will quit producing the updates for Windows XP. You should be good for several years - typically five to seven years, before XP will EOL.
