How much of a notice to quit is required to where they won't damage my dac?

I'm looking at leaving the company I am with and wondering if a one-week notice is enough to where they won't put a bunch of false crap on my dac report?

I've read on here about companies putting false things on the dac to get back at a driver that quit. I'm afraid of that.

I'm not sure, but I'd give 2 weeks, it's pretty well accepted to be the standard in all areas of employment.

Well if the DAC reports have what date an entry is made by a company ... the new company could see that around the day you quit, this company entered a bunch of stuff and before that they didn't put anything on it ... new company should be able to see if it is just hate or whatever ... can't believe companies like this act like they are doing YOU a favor by employing you ... without the drivers none of it works ... how out of whack is that ??

That's true. While it might feel good to just throw your hands up and walk out, you never know who you'll see again in your professional career. Don't burn any bridges, I guess is what I am saying.

Many of the larger carriers will route you to the terminal nearest your home and ask you to unload your truck ASAP once you let them know. They don't want you out there possibly with a bad attitude around valuable customers or driving their truck to other carrier's terminal to fill out apps. Not saying you'd do this, just saying they see this all the time and learned a long time ago, a driver wants to quit, let him quit .... plenty more in line want that seat.

But to answer your question, 10-14 days should be considered fair to both parties if they'll let you run it out. But monitor you paperwork submittal processes and try and work it to reduce the possibility of them screwing you out of pay and/or reimbursements. They may even turn in a cancellation notice to the health insurance carrier before you've actually quit. Just be careful and reduce your exposure as much as possible.

They don't give you any notice when they fire you.................What they put on your DAC is pretty hard to control. I wouldn't let them hold you hostage if you really want to go, then go.

You are not understanding what DAC is. DAC is a private service where Companies post things. Those things do not have to be true and there are no rules or standards. DAC is nothing more then a Gossip sheet. Think of it like National Enquirer. I would not be surprised if someone DAC reads "Trucker Stuck in Reefer, eats own leg to survive."

Give two week notice but no company will allow you to keep driving for them once you have announced you are quitting. Way too many people get hurt and need a lawyer after that.

Does'nt matter if you give them a week or a months notice, that won't stop your company from putting crap on your DAC report. How do you know they haven't already done so?Just quit once you return the trk. They would'nt appreciate it if you was to give them a notice.
