Hello all,
Today I stopped by NETTTS unannounced for an info booklet of sorts and ended up sitting with a "rep" of sorts. Now, I looked into them 2 years ago but personal issues precluded me from going. At that time it was 9200.00. Now it is 10,200.00. He seemed about as interested in speaking with me as a dog licking himself and I would have gotten better response from a dog. I ended it rather quickly. Kept looking at his FB page and playing with his music and it was very rude. Asked why is it 5k if I pay in cash and 10,200 if i take out a student loan and he would not give me a straight answer.
Would not give me anything that a schedule or pricing or anything for that matter. Told me to come back when I was serious about my future. My response was "Are you kidding me with what you just said?". He went in another direction and I threw his card into the trash on the way out.
So, I went home and called a few places that do their own training.
All that I can say about this is "Wow, unreal."
I also would like to know how they can get away with charging one price for cash and double if you take out a loan. I smell a scam. Can anyone shed light on this?
My experience @ NETTTS today.

K, here's an anecdote regarding this situation. It's one that's taken a while to settle in with me, it's one that makes me look back on my first company a bit more favorably than I did on the blessed day I finished with the company that trained me.
I did the company training route. It went okay for me. I didn't go so great for a lot of other guys. We went in with around 60-70 at the driver school. Less than 20 walked out. Less than 15 became drivers after that. Less than 10 finished their work contracts as repayment for the training.
A lot of guys will tell you that company paid training should be your last resort. I'm not here to reinforce or deny that position. I'm simply telling you about my experience.
What I do know is that CDL schooling in my area is about $11,000, and that's at the barebones cheapest.
My first company helped me get my CDL, got me in a trainers truck and threw me in a solo truck, all in a period of about 10 weeks. Didn't cost me a dime outside of food and crap I wanted/didn't need.
I also just happened to make around $25,000'ish my first year.
I busted my ### for every cent of it, and a lot of it went to overpriced truck stop food and other crap I never really needed.
When you consider my training would've been 11-15k? Then I MADE $25k?
Well...Like I said; I'm not here to sway opinions with arguments.hal380 Thanks this. -

I live in Amesbury on the NH border. Other factor is that I have to work full time as well. I actually tried doing the commute down to Avon but it is too far.
