This is true.. It is doable..Just takes some fineness in picking your loads and that took me a long time to figure out... LOL. Some guys seem to do fine right away that I have talked to out here on road...To our advantage they increase the fuel discount in Western states. Helps a little!
Plus we don't have deal with as much traffic. Can get bad in some areas but nothing like the East Side.

And the move has begun.....
Wife, the cat, and I are headed east to stay. Currently getting loaded and then 2100 miles to MI for a d/h. No load yet to NY, load board not inviting right now. Something will pop up I'm sure.mickimause, Wheelwell and dieselfuelonly Thank this. -
Excited for you guys!
Lemme know how the cat likes the ride... -
If you can't get straight to NY you should be able to always get load out of MI down to either OH or IN and then grab a load from Frankfort IN to Binghamton NY... who knows by the time they are finished loading my trailer here you might show up

Found a load from Frankfort to Binghamton! Thanks for the advice guys. Should be at the house in NY on Wed the 25th. 7 day trip across, I'll take it.... More than enough with the wife and cat cramping my style and my space....oops, did I type that out loud? Lol
Wheelwell Thanks this. -
Hang in there!! Glad it has gone smoothly all things considered. I'm real curious as to how the cat likes being in the truck. I have seen a couple drivers with cats as a pet in the truck and I would think its probably not a bad idea, I imagine a cat would handle the smaller space better than a dog and would like being able to jump and climb around on everything. Sometimes I wish I had a pet to keep me company, but I feel that I wouldn't be able to provide a dog with enough play time and attention, and I like cats too but I worry that it might eventually get curious and try to escape. I guess a cat, if you had it in the truck since it was a kitten, would probably adapt pretty well.

Why did you move from CA?

Because it's CA....... Just kidding
