Met another one of my followers the other day, we work together... So since he's not a member on here I'm guessing g he's a stalker lol. Just kidding crazy dude if your reading this.

@Cenutryclass I was going through my phone book and I believe I still gave your cell when we both worked at CWF.

Well short week for me, my idiot gf decided to get careless and close a door on my finger so it's in on of those straight things. And of course it's my most important finger...

I made a stop today at a small company that is notorious as a difficult and frustrating place to deliver. The shipping/receiving area is full of bad attitudes and slow movers. I check in on arrival, and am told that it's 20 minutes until lunch break and I should come back in an hour. I counter by saying that in an hour I'll be 100 miles away but I'll inform dispatch so they can set the material up to reship on Monday. I'm already unstrapped and they can get their material in one lift of the crane, so they back me into the building.

They all disappear. 15 minutes to lunch break now, and everyone suddenly has business on the other side of the plant. The crane operator eventually wanders back to let me know she's going to lunch and will unload me when she comes back. I wait another 5 minutes or so, and go Off Duty. I figure I might as well get my own break in and save some time later down the line. I get comfortable, tip my hat down over my eyes, and catch a little nap.

I wake up to a knock on the door. Crane Lady is back. "Excuse me! I can't get the chains around the bundle because it's butted up next to the material next to it."
I tell her I've put a pry bar on the deck in case she needed it, but she wants me to do it for her.

I say "Lady, if you'd unloaded this when I got here I'd have been up on the deck hooking your chains for you. We'd have been done in 5 minutes and you'd still have been early to lunch. Now I'm Off Duty and enjoying my own lunch break. I figure it'll be over about the time you get your tubing off my trailer."

It was a little immature to tweak her like that, but I was pleasant about it. More important, she knows now that if she tries to shovel crap on me I'll shovel it right back. We deliver there 2-3 times a week and I hope it gets routed on me at least once. I want to see what happens next time.

Not her job to use the pry bar.
In the end, You will always lose. I guarantee it.

Customers take their breaks seriously. Even if customer broke down for 5 hours, restarted for 45 minutes and break is in 15 minutes. No doubt they still take their 30 minute break. You will never win this battle. let it go. Now you made an un-happy crane operator, automatic loss.
I'm stubborn like you and left the steel mills days to the patient folks
Let it go or find another account. Seriously You can't win. No you will not, don't think you can change 75+ years and generations. We are dumb truckers to them.

P.S. Don't even attempt going to their supervisor, Who do you think molds the minions?
My Shop steward would tell you go pound sand and return with a pizza if you would like to return to our place lmao ( LTL shop steward telling impatient megacarrier drivers ) we treat everyone fair comes into the terminal. Impatient drivers union and non union are least priority. We work through breaks here. Impatient drivers we have special breaks.

I cant stand how some of these places shut down for an entire hour for lunch. I deliver regularly to an extremely busy shipping container depot that shuts down from 12 - 1pm, leaving as many as 20+ port drivers lined up into the street blocking driveways and cars making it impossible to drive a any thing larger than a car through the mess.
