Heading out with my trainer tomorrow morning! Looking forward to it. On the beard question, some showed up in orientation with signs of a new beard, most did not. The rule is no more than 1/2 inch and the policy is subject to change. Good luck, nukem on the the rest of your training!

The automatic is different yes, but it's not bad. The old truck didn't pull as good up hill (usually in 9th) , but when I switched to manual and down shifted to 8th or 7th, it was fine. My trainer didn't like that, but it got the job done. He also didn't like my answer of " I'm working the vehicle to find out what it can and can't do. Just like I would a new car." He insisted that I'm tearing the truck up doing that.

but it was also a 10 speed. The new truck is a 12, so I'll see what it can do next week. The only downside I see at this point to an auto is the fact on the highway you can become mesmerized by the road. At least in a stick you can downshift to pass or go uphill, etc... Here there is none of it, so, in a general sense, you have to consciously "remember" to drive.

Enjoyed my first week with Averitt in the truck. Got back to Decatur about 1:30pm Friday afternoon. Good 1st week, hope it keeps up. Hope your all doing as good with your trainers. Mine is a good teacher who is patient and makes it interesting.

    Nukem Thanks this.

Glad to hear you got someone who still cares and is patient! How are you doing with all the macros? I still get confused sometimes on which ones to do in what order. LOL

The macs you need to send are listed in the load assignment, I transfer the load info to spiral notebook and check off the macs as I send them, hope that helps

Yea, that's what I did. I created a small cheat sheet for right now until I get it down. But I'm writing all the stuff down, as well as the directions when I get close. Also starting a log of miles of weekly reconciliation.
