At this point you 'HAVE NOT' been convicted of anything, if you complete the terms set by the court, it will be DISMISSED/SET ASIDE, when they check your back ground they will NOT SEE anything, ARRESTS are NOT convictions. You could be arrested 100 times and never convicted and nothing will show on a back ground check. Businesses CAN NOT see your arrest record, only conviction record. So keep your nose clean, stay in the program NA/AA and after you finish probation you are good to go. Been there done that, I went to prison in 1994. Now 10yrs clean and sober. And I just PASSED the TSA background check to get my HazMat and TWIC.

No. There is something in IL has a provision under the criminal code SC 401 IIRC that allows for deferred adjudication.
