    Insane. The rand mcnally 720 is a fine device. Getting the vibe you want it to drive for you too....

    @Garrison64

    Give me an example of an trip planning issue you found.

    I can verify or not or give a solution as to how to use the TND and it's features.

    Nope. I can do that just fine on my own but I love your positive attitude.

    Use compare route, go with the second route, then add a via...it screws up the second leg. You cant compare route to the via so sometimes it goes the worse way after you selected the better way. Rand also thinks we go the speed limit up hills. using elevation date is should be able to have better time estimated up steeps hills. Also, petro/ta are grouped in quick stops on the POI, why not group flyingj and pilot. Its annoying to search through all the truck stops when im only looking for piliot fly j in our fuel network. Also, the gps stops searching for pio on longer routes. It seems to go 300-500 miles away and quits searching. Sometimes i want to find where im gonna stop for the night on a 1000+ mile run, but all the pio's stop way before that. The fuel price thing is a joke. The rand mc wont stay connected and even if it does it doesnt always grab the prices. Why are the prices not listed on the poi search where it would be convenient to add them as via? When using google maps, you can click and drag tot he roads you want to use. Why no on the randmc. When i was a company driver, they wanted me to use their routing, but it was nearly impossible to get the rand mc to match up.

    All of this is trip planning and show where the Rand mc has an epic fail.

    The TND as with any other device you have that you use for trip planning is a Tool. You can most certainly adjust the TND for the route you want and using a little creative thinking have the TND take the route you want. The TND as with any other stand alone GPS is a computer chip with guidelines that uses what is available on the Maps to make a choice as to find a legal truck route. It may not be the route you want, but you can adjust the routing.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    I paid about $360 for mine and I was also extremely disappointed. Well, more frustrated and pissed off than disappointed.
