Actually it's not. Under federal regulations interstate carriers must fully vette prospective drivers, and per insurance requirements ensure that anyone with a history of tickets and accidents in commercial vehicles are screened out. I'm sure this isn't you guys, however many folks who have these problems along with terminations for drug and alcohol violations try to hide that by claiming no prior driving history and periods of unemployment. If one of these types get into a seat and has a major accident, a negligent hiring lawsuit can cost millions... even shut a carrier down. Yep, Prime is rather picky with good reason.
We don't base home time off of terminals... they find you a load home, you deliver it, drop the trailer where sales wants it, and bobtail home.

I may be totally wrong, But they may be cherry picking their employees they want use, and abuse. They may be cherry picking the superstars only. Who knows.

IP is right, prime has to be selective in who they hire. You have to be dependable most of all, they can't just allow any knucklehead move freight .

I understand the cash inverstment part, and needing good drivers-I have worked in all aspects of criminal justice field for years. Like I said, each company does what it desires, to hire that which it wants.
