I'm curious about what impact wrench you guys carry as well are they airvor electric anand if air how do you run them ain't no way the compressor on my truck could run a 1 inch impact

1/2" impacts don't use much air in short bursts. I've run a 1/2" drill off the truck through the gladhand but had to occasionally wait for air to build up. I actually drilled through the frame to mount half fenders. 3/4" hole IIRC.

Now I just call PacLease. -
We carry a set of tire spoons in all of our trailers. I had an outside dual flat awhile back and those spoons were worth their weight in gold to me. Popped the tire off and headed home.

We do all our own work except tires as somebody else said it pisses me off. If I have a long wait then yea I'll do it myself but I'm gonna grumble about it.
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
I have a 3/4 inch impact and have run it off my Trk. air before. That's how we bolted up the plates to wind towers.
So it can be done -
Genoa, co on these blades.
I now carry a half inch ir impact iirc, or a craftsman professional. Can't remember which is at home and which is in my side box I have a retractable air like plumbed directly into a tank, mounted under my headache rack. I have run a 3/4 impact from the truck though without too many problems. May have to idle the truck up but it worked for busting lug nuts loose in years gone by.
The ir gun has done up to 1 1/8 headed nuts and bolts though so I think it could break a lug nut free myself. There is always a cheater bar over a 3/4 drive breaker bar too, which I know works for the stubborn ones.

Tire service isn't all that difficult. It isn't brute strength, it's technique and lubrication. I haven't had a flat on the road in a long time but if I do tomorrow, I'm gonna do it myself. Pisses me off big time to see a tire "technician" rip a chunk out of the bead !!! When it's time to replace tires .... I do it! Takes me all day to do four but it's done right. I use glad hand air and 1" impact and just wait on it to build up one lug nut at a time. Got to know how to use tire irons for proper leverage or you'll work yourself to death and still not get the job done. I weigh less than 135 pounds, so don't tell me it's to hard to do or I'll come over there and rotate your tires !
Cetane+, SL3406, not4hire and 1 other person Thank this.
