You should lose your job and CDL. No reason for this type of inattentiveness.

Just kidding. This happens a lot. And I would put blame on the illegally parked truck and so will the driver's company. Keep your head up.

Bet you'll be watching those mirrors like a hawk now. You got your first accident out of the way. Don't sweat it. Learn from it!

Did you (OP) get pics of this illegally parked truck? I'd wager your claims people asked you this already. If the truck was not in a marked parking spot, and you have pics to prove it, your insurance will dig in and fight.

I don't see how hitting something stationary can be defended. But then again I am not a sleezeball lawyer.

I actually smile when I hear or see one of these idiots who just make parking spots gets hit or towed. There usually is parking but they are too lazy to get into a spot. I'm sorry that he had to have this experience. But it warms my heart a little.

My trainer told me that you can park a truck almost anywhere and the most cops will do is tell you to move. But he likes to lie alot. Any truth to this?

Rarely will you get a ticket, or towed.

You've either gotta be screwing up bad, or being an #######, or both.

EDIT- For instance, the Los Lunas, NM Walmart, doesn't allow truck parking, even though it's not posted, they have a designated truck parking area, and are a few miles from a Walmart DC.
They still won't allow it. The guy that does the towing, will typically call your company before towing you, so they can ask you to move first. Or in my case; he waited patiently next to my truck for me to finish my shopping, and asked me politely to leave.

Wasn't a huge deal, but made me think twice about giving Wally-world my business, in the future.

Though, Plainview, TX and Ludington, MI are two of my favorite Walmarts to hit. both have dedicated truck parking.

Uh yes. Not only will you get a ticket but also run the risk of getting towed.
