Wondering what some of yall do to get better mpg. Ive heard of rutherfords scanguage and the different things for mileage. But what are some driving strategies (such as peddle or cruise, coasting up a grade or starting it early)?

Cut out idle as much as possible.
Slow and steady acceleration.
Keep up on maintenance.Good maintenance will go along way to keeping your truck running good.
Cruise when its safe to do so.
I like to slow before a light changes back to green so I still have momentum when it changes and I get back to speed easier.Just be careful of any traffic sitting at the light.Sometimes you can't do it.
You don't need to give it fuel coming down a grade just stay in a suitable gear and apply brakes when needed.
Keep your speed down.It may say 65 but even 63 will help out a little.Who cares about the super truckers I pay for my fuel and I like to keep money in my pocket.
Thats a few things. There is more I'm sure people will listLady K, playamwj12, Bigbellytrucker and 4 others Thank this. -
Do a search, tons of info already on this board.

Tuff to save fuel pulling up the hill, try to gain as much momentum before the uphill, downshift earlier than on flat ground and keep the rpm's higher.

Ok...hmmm..its a 13 kw 660 with a cummins 400 so high rpm would be harmful wouldnt it? It likes 1200~1400 for pulling torque
