Covenant has terminals all over -- including a small one outside Indianapolis.
No touch freight, 48 + Canada (optional).
Been a couple years so I don't know current pay rates, but I'd expect at least the equivalent of 45cpm after your first 6monthsdennisroc Thanks this. -
I talked to a h&w team at covenant and they said if you go over your allocated idle amount they take the fuel cost out of your paycheck.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
OUCH !!! Don't want to be giving money back lol.
Are you still with US Xpress ? Do they pay for any schooling. Sorry if I asked you this before. I am in Indiana and all my notes are still in Korea -

A company that is going to nickle and dime you for every little thing is obviously not concerned about looking out for the driver who has sacrificed their normal home life to come out and work for them.blairandgretchen, dennisroc and Stuka Thank this. -
Truck Duo been here at Covenant 4 years and never even heard of charging for idle. As a matter of fact, I get amazon reward points to use on amazon.com for keeping my idle lower than other hazmat teams. Does USX pay you for low idle or high mpg? I've heard some carriers do. And I'm personally of the belief if you idle 50-60% or more you probably should be charged.
Good luck to you wherever you decide to drive! -
I'm not looking to debate which company is better because of this or that. The reason I pointed out the idling is because these are the kinds of questions new drivers need to be asking. They will be out here for at least 3 weeks or more at a time and comfort on the road is key. Being able to idle, having an inverter, etc all play into the driver's overall experience in this industry and can make your time on the road much more enjoyable.
People's tolerance of extreme heat & cold differ from person to person, however if you have a pet you will be bringing along you need to consider the idling policies more in depth. Pets are more susceptible to extreme temperatures and need to have a climate controlled environment.
