Are there any companies that make Alaska runs?

Yes. Carlile, Brenke, Lyden, Fairchild, it's been said that Conway makes their way up there occasionally. Most of them are team runs for western based drivers. Very rare that you'll see a load up there, many companies put them on the Alaska Marine Highway.

Like Joseph mentioned you have the big players like Lynden which owns AML (Alaska Marine Line), Brown Line and a couple others, Carlile and Fairchild. Walmart has a couple team trucks that go back and forth as well. Most trucks that run steady are single owner operator trucks or guys that maybe own a couple trucks. Sleipner Transport is an Anchorage based company that has multiple trucks and a brokerage.
In the summer month all kinds of people show up when the fish and plant loads are available. Many come for the bragging rights and the experience. It is beautiful, but you and your equipment will be pushed to the limit all the times if you want to participate in the produce and fish loads.

It's literally one of the dumbest shows out there. I can't believe they still produce it and people still watch it. There's some really dumb people in this country.

I saw a guy in the Yukon driving a Polar truck awhile back and questioned him on the show. He claims that Polar Industries are owned by the History Channel and people running the company are actors. Not sure if that is true or not. I guess I should watch the show and see if he is part of it.

I want to be an Ice Road Trucker when I grow up.:biggrin_25519:

I want to run Alaska. And would love to run on the ice in the NWT. I love a challenge. A lot of people (drivers included) see something almost romantic or exciting.
