12v outlet/3-in-1 adapter Question

If it is a company truck check with the shop first. You wire something and the truck burns down, you could be held liable.

 

Again if this is a company truck and you tap into the fuse box, if the truck burns down you can be held liable. It is better to get the companies approval first and have the shop wire it.

 

Just remember the truck belongs to them and adding wires to the fuse box is modifying the truck. Without prior approval or the shop doing it you could be let go also.

 

What do Super Singles have to do with power. No to mention, not all Columbia have SS.

That being said, Columbias generally have (2) 12 volt outlets on back. One should be by the heater controls on bunk. On a 30 inch sleeper, the other should be under the bunk,

Plug your cooler in under buk outlet, cooler in bunk, and rest in dash.

That being said, columbias should have 15A fuses in all 12 volt outlets, not 20. Change them all back to 15 if you dont want your truck wiring melting and starting a fire.

I wouldn't recommend that. Your converting dc to ac with the inverter, then converting back to dc with the ac adapter. By the time your done the cooler uses 150% of its normal power.

 

The cooler is looking for 115vac at prob 5-8amp on the adapter, which the inverter provides. Then all it does is convert back to 12vdc or less @ about 5-8 amps. The cooler is not using any more or less of what it is looking for. So long as the source is there then the cooler is happy. Where are you determining it is using 150%?
